Introducing myself

Hello!

My name is Fidel Crist Otañez. I was born and raised in Azua. When I was in high school I wanted to be a Lawyer just like my father is, but I changed my mind by the time I graduated. Five years ago I moved to Higuey with plans to go to college, but I did not like the city and I decided to come here in order to accomplish my goal.

I work for a Customer Service Provider Company as a QA representative, which has helped me improve my English skill.  I've been working for this company for 5 month now, and I wish I would get promoted soon.

I am a Basketball fan and playing basketball is my main hobby. Actually, Basketball was one of the reasons why I decided to learn English because I wanted to understand what the basketball players were saying in their speeches. I feel so blissful now that I can mostly understand my favorite basketball player (LJ).

I hope we can get through this course with good grades and  happy faces.

    Hi everyone! My name is Ruth Esther Franco Cordero. I was born and raised in San Cristóbal.When I was in high school ,I wanted to be an account , because I studied in a technical school and studied accounting in this school; however, as soon as I applied for the University , I decided to change .
    I start to work this year and I consider that is a little stressful study and work at the same time.
    I like to sing and also go out with my family and friends, too.
    I am living with my family.
    One thing that characterizes me is that all the time , I am laughing.
    And also I really love animals , especially cats.
    In this course, I hope to get more knowledge and besides get good grades and share experiences with all of you.

About Unit 3: The Bold and the Bashful

The Bold and the Bashful         The content of this unit reminded me of a time I was considered shy and introverted. I also particularly remember being  misattributed  of having an  aloof  personality by many of my classmates in middle school and high school. However, later I understood this was simply because I did not share most interests or hobbies with them; therefore, while it might sound a bit  condescending , I just did not make any efforts to be on their good side, or seek for their friendship as I found it pointless. Unit 6: Spiritual Renewal

Spiritual renewal refers to practices or intends to get closer to the divine practices including fasting, praying, meditating, among others. This is not a new practice, it has been among us during centuries. All religions seek spiritual renewal, but their motivations are not always the same.
