My biography

My name is Devora Medina. I'm 30 years old, l was born and grew up in Santo Domingo. l'm the sixth of seven sibling that we are. Wife, mother of a handsome child, student of  modern languages mention English. I'm weak with children, l like to play with them specially with mine.


In my free time I like to take the child for a walk either to the games, to the amusement park etc.
Also l like to go to the gym and sometimes go to church with my mother and my child.

At first glance people would describe me as someone bored, but by sharing with me they will realize that l am a friendly person.

I chose to study This career, because first I liked tourism But, when it happened that in the uasd they did not teach that career l decided study modern languages and second, because l like languages. In my near futuro l want to learn more languages like a French, Creol, Japanese and Portuguese.

Finally In this class I hope to learn a lot from you, especially from the teacher, Share my knowledge with you as you share yours with me.

About Unit 3: The Bold and the Bashful

The Bold and the Bashful         The content of this unit reminded me of a time I was considered shy and introverted. I also particularly remember being  misattributed  of having an  aloof  personality by many of my classmates in middle school and high school. However, later I understood this was simply because I did not share most interests or hobbies with them; therefore, while it might sound a bit  condescending , I just did not make any efforts to be on their good side, or seek for their friendship as I found it pointless. The Tipping Point

The Tipping Point According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, a tipping point is " the critical point in a situation, process, or system beyond which a significant and often unstoppable effect or change takes place ". With this said, I think globalization has proven to be one of the most remarkable tipping points in worldwide history as it has had a tremendous effect in world economy, education, ideologies, health, and several other aspects of humanity.  For instance, it has made countries depend upon each other for sustaining their economy (e.g. tourism, petroleum, etc.) and also through free trade treaties. In addition, globalization has allowed for universities to reach international agreements. Unit 6: Spiritual Renewal

Spiritual renewal refers to practices or intends to get closer to the divine practices including fasting, praying, meditating, among others. This is not a new practice, it has been among us during centuries. All religions seek spiritual renewal, but their motivations are not always the same. For example, in fasting, we find that some religions do it to get spiritual discipline (episcopalianism), some others to get away from materialism (judaism), and others do it do to preserve their ancient traditions.It does not matter the reason why we seek to be renewed spiritually, what matters is that we all have the internal need to seek it. It seems like humans beings have the necessity to connect with something greater than the self.
