The Internet and other Addictions

I want to definete what is Internet and what is Addiction. According to the site web techterms.com, the internet is a global wide area network that connects compter systems across the world.

 On the other hand, the definetion of addiction according to Medical News Today, Addiction is a psychological and physical inability to stop consuming a chemical, drug, activity or substance, even though it is causing psychological and pgysical harm.


After reading this chapter and looking for information about the subject, i know that excessive use of the internet and the coputer are harmful in contemporary socierty and have changed the way we live or lives more than any other technological means. Despise this, we still know relatively little about the effects of internet addictior on our psychological functioning, mental health and general well-being.

About Unit 2: Honesty is the Best Policy

Nothing to Hide  As we finished covering the former unit titled Honesty is the Best Policy, a French movie named Nothing to Hide (Le Jeu) suddenly  came to my mind. The film’s plot involved a group of old friends who gathered one evening for a dinner party. Things soon got out of hand after they decide to play a game that consisted in surrendering their cellphones, and placing them in the center of the dinner table, so as to allow all of them equal access to each other’s incoming calls and messages as proof that none of them had nothing to “hide” or conceal from each other. As the game progressed many unexpected and shocking secrets began to emerge exposing their dishonest behavior, leaving them all in the midst of irreparable conflicts and chaos. Unit 2. Honesty is the Best Policy.

There are many reasons why people lie, but all those reason end up wit the same goal: to get something in their favor.  We all have lied at a certain point in our life, to get a job, to convince someone of something, to run away with murder, and so on. Workplace Privacy

Workers are often accustomed to personal privacy in their private lives, but employers aren't necessarily obligated to give workers privacy while they're on the job. Employers hire workers to perform specific tasks --- time that employees spend taking care of private matters may seem wasteful in the eyes of the employer, so employers may monitor employee activities to determine which workers are wasting time or are engaged in activities that may raise legal issues or security concerns. A personal opinion, employers should allow workers to have a good time in the middle of their work hours, as long as they do not neglect their work and protect the information that the company and the employees handle.
