The Bold and the Bashful


Bold: is defined as free in behavior, or prominent. A person who is not afraid to speak up for what he believes, even to people with more power than him, is an example of someone who is bold. A child who is too confident and arrogant as a result of being spoiled in an example of a child who is overly bold.

Bashful: often feeling uncomfortable with other people and easily embarrassed.
2. Reluctant to draw attention to oneself; shy, timid.

What is the difference between bashful and shy?

As adjectives the difference between bashful and shy is that bashful is inclined to avoid notice while shy is easily frightened; timid.
