UNIT 6: SPIRITUAL RENEWAL


    Hi again, this topic has been one of my favorites so far, since we could abound in practices with which I am very well familiar, which are spiritual practices since I am a Christian.

The theme of spiritual renewal is something profound and merely spiritual as its name indicates, it is all the approach that a person can have with the divinity of God and all that it would imply to live a life consecrated to that spirituality, that leads us precisely to the commonly used and outstanding practices of this life, like prayer, visits and consecrations in monasteries, churches or even living in such temples, like many priests and nuns, we also mention and highlight in the class another of these practices and that is fasting, which serves as an abstinence and sacrifice that helps us get rid little by little of material interests or whatever is the obstacle to approach the divinity.

By being close to the divinity we obtain a life full of love, peace, harmony, kindness and even charity with the neediest through works, activities and foundations. I am a faithful promoter that life close to God and what his word instructs us is the best life a human being can have and only through it we can achieve true fullness and feel complete.

About Unit 3: The Bold and the Bashful

The Bold and the Bashful         The content of this unit reminded me of a time I was considered shy and introverted. I also particularly remember being  misattributed  of having an  aloof  personality by many of my classmates in middle school and high school. However, later I understood this was simply because I did not share most interests or hobbies with them; therefore, while it might sound a bit  condescending , I just did not make any efforts to be on their good side, or seek for their friendship as I found it pointless. Nonetheless, I did get to build great friendships with a few  kindred souls  along my formative years with whom, to this date, I feel comfortable and content around and can talk about pretty much everything. Unit 6: Spiritual Renewal

Spiritual renewal refers to practices or intends to get closer to the divine practices including fasting, praying, meditating, among others. This is not a new practice, it has been among us during centuries. All religions seek spiritual renewal, but their motivations are not always the same. For example, in fasting, we find that some religions do it to get spiritual discipline (episcopalianism), some others to get away from materialism (judaism), and others do it do to preserve their ancient traditions.It does not matter the reason why we seek to be renewed spiritually, what matters is that we all have the internal need to seek it. It seems like humans beings have the necessity to connect with something greater than the self.
