The Bold and the Bashful The content of this unit reminded me of a time I was considered shy and introverted. I also particularly remember being misattributed of having an aloof personality by many of my classmates in middle school and high school. However, later I understood this was simply because I did not share most interests or hobbies with them; therefore, while it might sound a bit condescending , I just did not make any efforts to be on their good side, or seek for their friendship as I found it pointless. The Tipping Point According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, a tipping point is " the critical point in a situation, process, or system beyond which a significant and often unstoppable effect or change takes place ". With this said, I think globalization has proven to be one of the most remarkable tipping points in worldwide history as it has had a tremendous effect in world economy, education, ideologies, health, and several other aspects of humanity. Spiritual renewal refers to practices or intends to get closer to the divine practices including fasting, praying, meditating, among others. This is not a new practice, it has been among us during centuries. All religions seek spiritual renewal, but their motivations are not always the same. For example, in fasting, we find that some religions do it to get spiritual discipline (episcopalianism), some others to get away from materialism (judaism), and others do it do to preserve their ancient traditions.It does not matter the reason why we seek to be renewed spiritually, what matters is that we all have the internal need to seek it.
