Unit 2: Honesty Is The Best Policy


For me is very important to be honest because you can become someone others can trust. It is not a good option to be a liar . If you are honest you will have a free life, you won’t hide things and you are  going to be happy . I would say that the most important thing in this life is when you are real to yourself and other.

Plagiarism: When you copy something.

Pervasive: Everywhere.

Worldwide : Around the world.

Trivial: Something that is not important.

Rattling on each other: Talking about each other.

Mislead: To take a person in the wrong way.

Veneer: Mask.

Finely honed: Something that is perfect. Example: The teacher has a finely honed ability to detec cheaters.

Conceal: To hide.

Erosion: In this case is about relation with people.

Inflated: To exagerate.

Nothing to Hide  As we finished covering the former unit titled Honesty is the Best Policy, a French movie named Nothing to Hide (Le Jeu) suddenly  came to my mind. The film’s plot involved a group of old friends who gathered one evening for a dinner party. Things soon got out of hand after they decide to play a game that consisted in surrendering their cellphones, and placing them in the center of the dinner table, so as to allow all of them equal access to each other’s incoming calls and messages as proof that none of them had nothing to “hide” or conceal from each other. Unit 2. Honesty is the Best Policy.

There are many reasons why people lie, but all those reason end up wit the same goal: to get something in their favor.  We all have lied at a certain point in our life, to get a job, to convince someone of something, to run away with murder, and so on. Those pretty lies are seen like something that are fine and like if they are not going to cause any damage but that is not always true, some lies can bring really bad consequences. The Tipping Point

The Tipping Point According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, a tipping point is " the critical point in a situation, process, or system beyond which a significant and often unstoppable effect or change takes place ". With this said, I think globalization has proven to be one of the most remarkable tipping points in worldwide history as it has had a tremendous effect in world economy, education, ideologies, health, and several other aspects of humanity.  For instance, it has made countries depend upon each other for sustaining their economy (e.g. tourism, petroleum, etc.) and also through free trade treaties.
