The Tipping Point.


That day our teacher said, The Tipping Point is a very important moment of change, whether it is in our country or in our lives. For example a tipping point In the history of the Dominican people, it was the proclamation of the first Dominican constitution, which took place in San Cristóbal on November 6, 1844.



And the most important tipping point was the day that we Dominicans became independent from foreign powers (February 27, 1844).



    The meaning of some words that the teacher explained :

Win over: To convince, persuade. Example: JCE is going to win you over to vote.

Profile: Present, describe.

Root: Origin. Example: The root of problem of the Dominican Republic is corruption.

Goes a long away toward: something that we need. Example: I need to go a long away toward obtaining my degree.


Mavens: people who know a lot about a particular subject.
