Unit III. The Bold and the Bashful



Regarding unit 3 about The Bold and the Bashful, most of 90 percent of adults have experienced shyness at a certain point of their lives, in different social interactions. However, for the rest 30 - 40 percent considered to have an overall bashful personality, life can be challenging due to the limited social skills they develop throughout their lives. In many cases, shyness can lead them into human isolation, maladjustment in society, or even unemployment.

Independently of the results of having a shy or bold personality, the principal purpose of this piece is the origin of them. The following report was taken from Newsweek, in which the Newsweek staff takes different studies made about how children can grow bold or bashful while in childhood. Including theories about the origin of shyness, which was considered the result of a habit formation at the beginning, but recently,  it is assumed that it might have a partial hereditary factor as well.

Nothing to Hide  As we finished covering the former unit titled Honesty is the Best Policy, a French movie named Nothing to Hide (Le Jeu) suddenly  came to my mind. The film’s plot involved a group of old friends who gathered one evening for a dinner party. Things soon got out of hand after they decide to play a game that consisted in surrendering their cellphones, and placing them in the center of the dinner table, so as to allow all of them equal access to each other’s incoming calls and messages as proof that none of them had nothing to “hide” or conceal from each other. Unit 2. Honesty is the Best Policy.

There are many reasons why people lie, but all those reason end up wit the same goal: to get something in their favor.  We all have lied at a certain point in our life, to get a job, to convince someone of something, to run away with murder, and so on. The Tipping Point According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, a tipping point is " the critical point in a situation, process, or system beyond which a significant and often unstoppable effect or change takes place ".
