About Unit 7: Workplace Privacy



Workplace Privacy 
            As I was further researching the governing topic of unit 7, I came across this short yet concise YouTube video on workplace privacy and employee monitoring policy found specifically in North Carolina’s law in the United States of America. I happen to think that this brief video sums the topic up quite well, encompassing what we overall discussed all throughout the unit.

            In a nutshell, the video explains how Human Resources professionals handle protected personal identifiable information, as well as private health information. In addition, it also goes over the power that these professionals may wield as they investigate employees’ conduct and even snoop around their daily activities through their corporate emails and security systems.

Nothing to Hide  As we finished covering the former unit titled Honesty is the Best Policy, a French movie named Nothing to Hide (Le Jeu) suddenly  came to my mind. The film’s plot involved a group of old friends who gathered one evening for a dinner party. Unit 2. Honesty is the Best Policy.

There are many reasons why people lie, but all those reason end up wit the same goal: to get something in their favor.  We all have lied at a certain point in our life, to get a job, to convince someone of something, to run away with murder, and so on. The Tipping Point According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, a tipping point is " the critical point in a situation, process, or system beyond which a significant and often unstoppable effect or change takes place ". With this said, I think globalization has proven to be one of the most remarkable tipping points in worldwide history as it has had a tremendous effect in world economy, education, ideologies, health, and several other aspects of humanity.  For instance, it has made countries depend upon each other for sustaining their economy (e.g. tourism, petroleum, etc.) and also through free trade treaties.
