Shy people want more social contact, but at the same time they have a rational fear of being rejected or judged by others, which causes a lot of anxiety.

The Bold and the Bashful The content of this unit reminded me of a time I was considered shy and introverted. I also particularly remember being misattributed of having an aloof personality by many of my classmates in middle school and high school. However, later I understood this was simply because I did not share most interests or hobbies with them; therefore, while it might sound a bit condescending , I just did not make any efforts to be on their good side, or seek for their friendship as I found it pointless. Nonetheless, I did get to build great friendships with a few kindred souls along my formative years with whom, to this date, I feel comfortable and content around and can talk about pretty much everything.
